Its all nobamas fault!!  Him and the doctors doing open wallet surgery!!  Without all of their added stress we could all be seining minnows and hunting sheds!

Hello GB
I just had my neighbor go through the same thing. They ended up increasing one of his medicines and telling him to take four niacin tablets a day plus a regular aspirin instead of a baby aspirin.  They said the new medicine should clear up the blockage problems.  Hope all go's well for you. Think about how much better you will feel after.  I'll put you on my prayer list.

I've not seen the doctor since the test but really need to schedule a visit to discuss it with him. Faye said he told her he found nothing which would be odd since the first time he did find a single 20% blockage.

If he tells me what he told her I'm gonna wanna know why he felt a need for a second one especially in light of finding nothing of significance the first time.

Insurance money. That is why. My dad died 12 years ago due to the fault of the hospital personal. They wanted to do surgery on my dad up until the last couple days of his life. We asked will it save his life and they said no. They said he might live another couple weeks. They wanted the money. That makes me sick. >:( Dale

We complain if they don't do anything and complain if they want too do something.
They are much like mechanics. Some good , some poor. If you want to fix a car until it is rusted out, they can do it.
Now doctors are trained to do what it takes too sustain life. It is honerable.
The individual should be allowed to determine his/her own quality of life and allow or dis-allow any or all treatment.
I hope GB will understand that some of his problems come from age and weight issues, without taking offense. It is his choice and I will be damned if I judge that decision.
Whatever the case I wish him well, God speed and a return to a full life.
Blessings

actually it takes a lot of justification to get the insurance to pay. If a Dr does nothing they are at fault. if a dr does something and nothing is found they are wrong. As I am in the health care field it is a lose lose situation.  I am surprised Dale that you didnt go for the millions if the hospital was at fault.  Unless he had cancer and they wanted to remove a tumor I dont see how surgery would elongate someones life by two weeks. And if he had cancer I dont see how the hospital killed him.   Also if he was that sick, he would not be a candidate for surgery anyway.  Just my professional opinion.  Bill I am glad that they found nothing significant.

If he tells me what he told her I'm gonna wanna know why he felt a need for a second one especially in light of finding nothing of significance the first time.

Insurance money.

Let me tell a quick story here.  In Jan 2005 my X was having some female troubles (I'll spare the details.)  She called the Dr. and was scheduled for an immediate emergency ultrasound.  My insurance had just changed to a High Deductible plan ($3000.00 ded.  :'()  I called the office right back and told them we had changed to a HDP and asked how much I needed to bring, money being no object when it came to the safety of my wife. The nurse kind of paused for a moment and said that she would check and call me back.

30 min later no call.  I went ahead and called back and the nurse told me that the Dr. was calling in a prescription.  I said, no she's supposed to come in for an emergency sonogram.  The nurse said no, the Dr. reviewed her file and decided that this would work.  I asked to talk to the Dr...and he was....BUSY!  Called back 20 min later, BUSY!!  Called back again and told her nurse that if I didn't hear back from the Dr. within an hour I was going to report him to BC & BS and state board.  I never did get a call back but I did get a letter from the Dr. advising us that my wife would not be seen at his office anymore....

So, without any additional information other than the type of my insurance it went from "emergency sonogram" to "handfull of pills" wich turned out to basically be a stronger birth control she had to take for a week...

This that I do, I do by my own free will.

OK it's time for an update.  Those of us who have been down this road know it does not disappear or just go away.  Wish you the best. :)
