Taurus 22s
« on: March 14, 2009, 04:11:12 AM »
What do you guys think of these.  I was looking at them on the Taurus site last nite.  Just wanting something lite I can stick in my pocket when I'm out woods walking or small game hunting with the shotgun. They would fit nicely into a day pack or even your pants pocket.  I have a Buckmark, but that 9shot revolver sure looks inviting.  Are they well made shooters.

I own an older model 94 that I like very well.  It's a small frame, 4", nine shot revolver with a short ejector rod housing.  They have changed the design since I bought it to one with a heavy, full length ejector rod housing.  IMO the newer design with the heavy full length ejector rod housings are too heavy, too bulky and don't balance as well in my hand as my old model 94.   I've heard mixed reports on the QC of the newer .22 revolvers as well.

I looked at two model 94 friday and a ss buckmark ,like the look of the 94,s but got the buckmark .The triggers are bad on the taurus, also heard of QC problems.
I enjoy collecting guns, swaping and staying up on all the newest models. I deer, quail, squirrel and rabbit hunt.

I bought one in 22mag. Was not that accurate and I didn't like the grip. I stick with S&W or ruger.

Just bought a 94 yesterday.  Took it to the farm and ran a box thru it to check function.  It performed flawlessly.  The single action was light and crisp.  The dbl. action was a tad heavy, but smooth.  I'm not much of a handgun shooter, because I am left handed and right eye dominant.  I wanted a .22 to get more proficient with a handgun-that I could afford to shoot.  I think I'm gonna like the little pup. ;D  I got the 4" stainless.
