Primers, Yee-Haw
« on: March 14, 2009, 08:52:55 AM »
Went in my local Mom & Pop gun shop today and THEY HAD PRIMERS.  All kinds - Winchester, CCI, Federal.  Although they didn't have large quantities, they had everything....except small pistol.  Evidently the 9mm boys got there before me.  However, I don't need any SPP's right now.  I bought all the Federal large rifle primers they had....all 4 boxes (100/box).

The good news is, primers may be beginning to show up again.  Been real dry around here lately.

Local store here has a limit of 1000 a day.  I'm not really lacking in the primers in my opinion.

They haven't been getting to dry around these parts. I guess we've been lucky

Went by the largest gun shop in my area Thursday to get pistol powder.  Most of the shelves were empty.  He had Bullseye, no H110, almost no pistol powder at all.  No small pistol primers.  No small rifle primers.  No Varget.  Very little ammo.  Wanted 357...out.  38?  Out.  Had a small quantity of 223.  Very small lot of Wolf SKS ammo.

Glad I've got a little stuff ahead.

About all I can find locally is shotgun primers. Everything else is gone
and no one has any idea when they might get more in stock. Shoulda,
coulda, woulda, but looking back, I dropped the ball by not stocking up!
I know better now. :)

I searched all over online until I found that Natchezss still had CCI large rifle.  Price wasn't too bad, considering the shortage: $25.00/1000.  I bought 4000 - I couldn't see buying less than that when I had to pay a $25.00 haz mat fee.  Just got an email with tracking number - so I know they shipped.

I only wish I had bought more at my club when they have them - members get them nearly at cost.  Sadly, all they have is Magnum Large Rifle (Win.).  I'm really glad that the wife and I are set for ammo and components right now.

BTW - I also notice that Jeff over at gibrass.com has sold out of everything except .50 cal stuff and that he apparently cannot get any more Government brass (or components????).  Interesting timing.........

Well boys ,

Same story here , I do have a guy with a small quantity of primers ( win large rifle, small rifle and large pistol) but he is the only fare in town .. And i say town loosely since i have no issues travelling up to 200 miles to get other components.. Small pistol seems almost non-existent .. Small rifle has been real hard to come by for a while .. No one sept a lil shop in the middle of no where has any loaded 380 ammo , 9mm has been very hit or miss too and 22lr pffft GOOD LUCK ..

Buy it now boys and keep that powder dry ,
