Springfield XD 45 GAP?
« on: March 18, 2009, 06:59:51 AM »
I have a fried who has offered to sell me a new, never fired Sprinfield XD in 45 GAP for $450. First of all is this a good price? Seems like it to me. Secondly, what about the 45 GAP? I'm not very familiar with it. I'm not concerned with the cost of ammo since I reload. What do you guys think about this caliber and gun?     Thanks, Mike

The chambering would be a deal breaker for me. You RARELY find GAP brass on the range, and buying it can be expensive. Not to mention keeping it separated from ACP brass. IMO, the GAP is the proverbial "Solution in search of a problem"

depends on what you currently have and how much you shoot and if you reload.  If I had a .45ACP that I shot well, I wouldn't even consider it.  If I didn't have a .45 and wanted a .45 and didn't intend to shoot a LOT, I'd consider it.  If I reloaded I'd consider it.  The price is decent but as said before, the GAP would be an issue for me with a .45ACP or two in the house.  Enjoy it if you get it...
