two project guns done

I refinished the stock on my SBI F10 and painted the barrel OD GREEN.  I also added a undertaker turkey choke and a truglo slip on fiber optic sight.

The second shotgun is a pardner 12 gauge that I cut the barrel down two 20" on and jb welded a cva front sight on and the peep from my BC.  I also did the stock with some textured paint and painted the barrel flat black.  It carries Great and shoots about a two inch group at 50 yds.

Great job on both, I like them, too.  Wondering where you found the slip-on fiber optic sight.  I have looked for one and not been able to find one locally.

how  good does  that JB  welded  sight  hold up??

i have been thinking  of adding sights to a slug gun

I think I would solder a front sight on before I would trust JB weld.

The sight on my SB1 F10 is a TrugloŽ Glo-Dot II, you can find it at bass pro, cabelas or midway

I'm not sure about solder but I can tell you unless you abuse your gun the JB weld will hold.  I had a set on my turkey gun and I had to beat them off with a hammer and punch to remove them. Just make sure you rough up both surfaces then clean them well. It does not work with a scope mounts though, I guess cause of the weight.  I shot about thirty slugs before it came loose and smacked me in the forehead.

My turkey gun shooting hevi 3" 2-#6 puts an average of 168 pellets in a 10" circle w/ at least 50 pellets in the head and neck at 40 yds.  I'm sure I can improve that with a better choke.not sure I need to though.

My pardner will put 3 brenneke classics in a two inch group at 50yds.  I haven't tried any other slugs yet.
