I'm here with you in the same state, Sam. You sound just like Thomas Payne (worth a re-read)! I too have called and written our represenatives and they have, for the most part, given me the "middle digit". These represenatives work for me and you and those who ignore us should be "recalled" or "impeached". However, you watched as our state was almost "tied" in its support for PBO, a fact I'm not proud of. When I look at the "political map" of where PBO got his support I "cringe"; when I read that now "ACORN" will have a hand in the U.S. census "taking" I want to "throw up".
You are right that we cannot silently stand by and watch the destruction of our country. Selecting who we "ally" with is complicated by so many "agendas" of those that would enlist our help. Siding with our "founders" and echoing their words against "tyranny" are long overdue and always applicable. Right now we at least have "shreds" of the constitution to back us up; very soon we may lose the most important parts of that document through the "black robes" and "radical social architects" of this "administration".
I long for Reagan's "conservative" party that stood for the principles I believe in, but even Raegan had to compromise because of a "socialist" congress where "Blue Dog" Democrats were silenced into submission by "Rockefeller Republicans" who wanted "Big Business" to replace "big government". As Reagan once said, "that he didn't desert the Democrat party, it deserted him". I could also say the same about the Republican party, but I have struggled to overlook fiscal irresponsibility because of holding the line on social issues (rights of the unborn, school choice, 2nd ammendment, supreme court judge selection, etc). We had gotten so far away from the constitution that electing a strict "constitutionalist" as a president is not "doable". To do a "180" and overturn our "socialist" leanings and "bloated" governmental institutions would create total chaos where we have allowed government intrusion in areas of our lives "unthinkable" just 50 years ago. We've got to stop what is happening immediately, that is a hard requirement, but the "road" back to our constitutional form of government has got to be done gradually or we'll create "withdrawl" so severe a generation will be lost. (After all, Moses wandered in the desert for 40 years before he could divest himself with those that clung to their pagan leanings.)
We have been in a "mess" for many decades now and have ignored the "signs" while we have allowed socialist ("final stages of liberalism") teachers to educate our kids, present us the news, interpret science, and write history into their version of the final solution of Stalin's "uptopia". It is no wonder we don't recognize an "Uncle Obama" when he tells us in eloquent tems that government is the answer to all our problems and business (political speak for "capitalism") is the enemy of the people. He has whipped up a "mob mentality" to "lynch" those evil rich, while he "picks our pockets" to finance his big government. We have inadvertently made him "king" because of the "liberal" majority in congress (members from both parties, but mostly Democrat). We watch in disbelief while bills are beings passed without major opposition, which we should have expected when we angrily voted out those conservatives who would have least kept it a "two party" system.
I think Obama was suprised at our anger over AIG bonus and it how it is now being directed at our "elected officials". Of course it won't touch PBO as long as he can make an appearance on the "Leno show" to boost his "poll" numbers.
Not only do we have a president put in office by a "socialist propaganda machine", he is at the very least a muslim sympathizer if not a full blown muslim from a "black muslim" theology that makes the KKK look like a benign "advocacy" group. Allowing Palestinians to immigrate to America! Sending $900 million to Hamas! Requiring Israel to recognize Hamas and Hezbola as a legitimate political faction! Recognizing Iran as a ligitimate foreign power although it advocates the distruction of Israel and the "west!" What must we be thinking that these "self serving" politicians have our welfare in mind regardless of their party.
We have allowed our congress to spend our country into oblivion. (Trillions does not even "register" with those of us on a budget of less than 6 figures.)
If putting a ron Paul sticker on my vehicle will bring attention to those that wish to silence us, then I'll pick up a sticker at the next gun show in my area (comming in one week). No I didn't vote for Ron Paul or the "Independent Party" candidate (can't remember his name from Pensacola, FL), but would gladly support their right to be heard and I vehemely oppose anyone that would "politically target" them. Get the names of our state reps. who are responsible and I'll "target" my state rep. to confront these "assassins for political correctness". I'm getting involved with the "tea party" demonstrations and will be involved in NRA's march.
I tend to be a "knee jerk" conservative who has been "burned" by the "rhetoric" of "masquerading" politicians who "talk-the-talk", but never "walk-the-walk" when the final vote comes down. (I also know Democrats who are as conservative as I, but could never "stomach" voting for an evil Republican because it would never square with their view of the "War between the states" or their view of what their party represents.) We all have been "duped" into believing there is alway "hope and change" in our "party" if we just get the right person into office. We also have those that would rather see the house set afire rather than exteriminate the rats that are destroying the structure. Without constant research of who you are really dealing with on the internet, it is easy to be taken-in by people who seek to "subvert" rather than "support". It is also easy to get caught up with the "mob mentality" because most of us have had it up to our "eye balls" with the arrogance of our politicians and want to take action even if it turns out to be wrong.
We need to take a lesson from our enemies, and use the system to help put our country back on track. If it means we need some lawyers on our side to keep things legal, I'm sure we have those in our mist who share our views and can defend our legal actions.
I laud your efforts and will join only those efforts to "take back" this country, whether it be for a Republican, Democrat, Libertarian, or Independent. We didn't get to this point overnight; we'll have a harder time getting back to our "roots" than can be imagined. Unite now or be trampled by the next round of legislation. May God give us the will to sustain the effort to succeed.
