I really feel our form of government, as prescribed by our founding fathers has reached the sunset of it's existence. Here's a great quote from Thomas Jefferson. Seems very applicable.

"Experience has shown that, even under the best forms of government, those entrusted with power have, in time and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny."

Our government is actively and openly targeting specific individuals with the new 90% tax bill on the AIG bonus employees, Rush, Shawn, Joe the Plumber, Ann Coulter and there are others. We have really breeched a sacred line with this. The assault on our 2nd amendment, the pending assault on the 1st amendment with the resurgence of the Fairness Doctrine. The government injecting itself into private industries.

These are all in fact, acts of "tyranny".

I'm currently reading a book "Imperium" about politics in the Roman Empire at about the time of Ceasar Agustus. What strikes me is that all politicians are all pretty much the same, slimeballs. What is also interesting is how long the Roman Empire held together. The axiom is that democracy only lasts for about 200 years. That's the amount of time it takes for the hardy and wise founders to be replaced  by a lazy, spoiled, uneducated generation that throws it all away in the name of greed.

 Seems like the Romans had these revolutions and assinations on a fairly regular basis that purged the slime. If they held together for so long maybe there is hope for us, but I think there will be at least a great bloodletting in our very near future. My hope is that the Rapture of the Church preceeds that, but I wouldn't bet on it.

I find it amusing that people continue to refer to Republicans in the present tense. That part of our system has already ended. Even a lot of the speeches at CPAC suggested as much, and RNC's Steele admitted in his introductory open letter that Republicanism as it is understood today (ie. same as Democrats, spending frenzies, etc.) needs to end.

By the way, did you know that about 40% of the pork projects in the $410 billion spending law were Republican projects?

The republicans will make appeals to the public for support, but they will not deserve reconsideration for a generation or more.

The real crisis in this country is the fracturing of an united people into various alledgedly opposing factions; and there are powers at work that are experts in fracturing societies thru extremist premises.

What is the solution?

I've been reading the biography of Robert Toomb over the last few days.

Seems many of the issues today are very similar to the period before the war of northern aggression.

This isn't something new, and this isn't the first attempt by the federal government to grab power.

The tariff of 1828 and earlier are essentially the same thing as the 90% tax on AIG executives in that it disproportionately taxed southern states.

This tax started the succession  movement culminated by the American civil war and the first radical reconstruction.

No fellows, this isn't the first rodeo.  History always repeats itself.

The talk I was referring too was those that did not get out and vote the last time or, if statistics are correct, perhaps ever.
Folks like too complain and gripe but everytime there is a vote there are excuses for not voting.
I think I am talking too some folks here, if statistics are correct.
We had/have enough folks too change things if everbody does their job.
If this does not apply to you, then ignor. If it does apply to you, then start doing the right thing.
