Handi Youth combo 20 gauge shell question
« on: March 20, 2009, 03:43:59 AM »
My son has a Handi Youth combo and we were planning to use the 20 gauge barrel this weekend for the first time.  The barrel says it is chamberred for 3 inch shells.  The HR site says the same for that model, but for other models it lists "2 3/4 up to 3 inch".

My question is can I use 2 3/4 inch shells or am I stuck with only using 3 inch shells?  Don't want the little guy to end up with a bruised shoulder.  Thanks!

You can fire any 20 gauge shell that is 3" or LESS.  All my 20 gauges, except one old Iver Johnson, are chambered for 3" and I haven't shot a 3"magnum load for decades.  The recoil of a magnum load in a 20 gauge is VERY unpleasant!
