Predator Hunter ?'s
« on: March 20, 2009, 07:50:43 AM »
I'm thinking about picking up a Predator Hunter in either .223 or .204.  I have searched and don't see much talk about this rifle.  I would like to hear your pros and cons on the rifle if you have one.  Thanks.

I shouldered one at a Cabelas a last year. Dunno how to describe it, but it just didn't "feel" right. The balance was all screwed up to me. Also, the camo scheme didn't "look right" for my area, wrong colors in it I thought. Of course that would be different for other areas I know. Too bad they don't offer several camo patterns. I passed and bought a Stevens 200 .223 instead. Going to have it camo painted sometime soon here...

I think the pattern I want is "Desert Mirage/Flage"

I have one in a 223 and like it alot. I've only shot one load in it(45gr winchester white box soft points) and it shoots those half moa. Why did I get one ? I wanted a light varmint gun. Its not too heavy to carry all day but its heavy enough to shoot well off a bench. For me its the perfect blend of size and weight. The camo is something I could care less if it had or not. For me this gun don't have any cons. It shoots well, not too heavy and the trigger is adjustable to 1.5 lbs. Its a good rifle that won't win a beauty contest, if they made one in 308 I'd probably buy another.   Dave

Just what 243Dave said.  Incredibly accurate with just about every load I've run through it.  My 223 really likes 60 gr. V-max over Varget.  Great carry gun and good off the bags for prairie dogs.  No problem taking PD's over 350 yds with this gun.

Thanks guys for the replies.  I think, from the comments here and others that I have read and heard, I 'll go ahead and try one.  Thanks again.
