ammo now
« on: March 20, 2009, 06:24:01 PM »
Some guys I work with went in on a group buy at Sportsmans Warehouse in Fairbanks AK. Mostly they bought ammo, one guy got a few boxes of 30/06 ammo federal premiums at $ 56.00 per box and another got some  Fed premium NP 338 win mag ammo at  $69.00 per box. I handload so I almost never buy factory ammo as such I am out of the loop on this. But $ 3.45 per round in 338 WM is crazy or have I been living under a rock for to long.
 This is crazy

I paid $36.00 a box for 25-06 last week at the same store.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

At those prices I'd have to wait until 3 or 4 deer line up so I could use 1 bullet

So much for practice before the season starts. Those prices are not so bad though I was looking at a new graf and sons catalog and they had 470 NE for over $300.00 per 20. I know most people would only use that in Africa but I would never travel that far without taking at least 100 rds. maybe more. So thats $1500.00 to $ 3000.00 just in ammo. Must be AIG executives.
