HW 55
« on: March 21, 2009, 08:36:21 AM »
I recently inherited an HW55.  What can you guys tell me about it.  I believe it is about 20 or so years old.  Seems to shoot very well.  Has hooded front sight with various inserts and rear peep sight.

To fire an accurate shot means to not just hit the target, but to know where the target was hit before the bullet got there.

you are a lucky dog - these rifles are terrific!

have had mine for a looooong time - it "ain't" a magnum, but it is a LOT of fun to shoot!

if you haven't done so yet, take it to a reputable airgun smith to have it completely taken down, cleaned and lubricated - correctly.

really, you don't need to have this done more than once in a decade, but if you have no idea as to it's maintenance record - this is probably a good step to ensure continued long life.

have fun with a real heirloom!
