Stock strenght ?
« on: March 21, 2009, 12:14:24 PM »
My ?. If you take the factory stock bed the action and float the barrel. What is the dif. between this and spending 300$ on a H S precsion stock. Does the stiffness of the stock matter once you have done this or does the alum. bedding block of the HS make it worth the money. Rem. sps factory stock. THANKS

The plastic forearm will still flex and have the possibility of contacting the barrel when you put it on a rest.  It is still a better option than leaving it alone.  Might I recommend the Bell and Carlson A2 style that you can find at www.shootersdiscount.com .  You can still get them with the aluminum bedding block for a bit over $200.  Hope this helps.
