cleanup for lube

I and digging out old equipment, a pair of Lyman 450 lubrasizers that were full of lube, sprayed down with WD40 , wrapped in old sweat shirt and stuffed in ammo can since about 1996. Other than hot water and detergent, what would you use to clean up and remove old lube??

You could try brake cleaner or maybe spary can bore scrubber.

depending on how clean you want them ? if you just want to remove the old lube, get an oldpot, or something you can throw away, and boil them in water, be sure to remove the inside pin, if that's not clean enough try soaking them in "purple power" {a cleaner you can get at W W or auto parts stores
