Anyone read about shotspotter on yahoonews today, interesting read  to help leos save you .

  They put that up in places around our city. Had some people screaming about privacy rights and such. Gov't said it will help cut crime, get thugs off the streets.
  About 1.5 years in service and they haven't caught 1 gunman yet. They have responded to several heavy rains, high winds, and car backfires.  When is the last time you heard a car backfire??????
  They have made alot of arrests for prostitution and solicitation because these systems are installed in those areas, and they just happen to respond to a gunfire signal exactly when the dirty deed is taking place.

Saw the story on it, was pretty costly, I wondered how many more officers they could have put on the streets for the cost of the system.
I hope it fails big time...seems like a lot of "Big Brother" to this one
