Model 7 stock fitting
« on: March 22, 2009, 04:38:06 AM »
I just bought a model 7 wood stock for my project 7mm saum, but the stock came off a .243.
The barrel is much larger on the 7mm saum so has anybody completed this task? Just wondering if I can do this without hireing help. What has to be done besides the barrel channel? Possibly the relief where the barrel meets the action?

Opening the barrel channel is all you should need to do, go slow and remove equal amounts from both sides until you get a good fit when completed remember to seal all of the inside of the stock before re assembling.   Jim
