My all time favorite is 7.5 grs of Unique under a my 250 Keith cast bullets. I've shot them in my S&W 29, my Redhawk, in my 44 T/C Hunter barrel, my S&W 696 and my new 44 Spl. Ruger Flattop.

Another vote for Skeeter Skelton's pet load. I shoot the same thing out of a Ruger Super Blackhawk with a 4 5/8" barrel. It's a real pleasure to shoot.

I shoot a .44 Special in USPSA matches. My favorite load is 7.0 grains of Winchester 231 with a 200 grain round nose flat point bullet. Out of a 4 inch Model 624, it makes about 167,000 power factor, and is very accurate.

I have a Ruger Super Blackhawk, and the wife has a Marlin .44 Mag saddle gun.  We almost exclusively shoot .44 spls.  Only load Magnums when hunting.  Cannot remember the load off the top of my head.  Have killed a Mule Deer at 30 yards with this load.  I would rather use .44 Spls for home defense as well.  Would not blow through intruder, wall, across the street and hitting neighbors house, and possibly someone there as well.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
