barrel prep
« on: March 23, 2009, 03:00:33 AM »
I have a stick of white rouge buffing wheel compound. Is this suitable for bore polishing? I am planning on using a .410 mop wrapped with a flannel patch which has been treated with the rouge.
thanks for your input

Just did the bore on my BC. used JB's bore paste, you can feel and see the difference, some say it only helps for cleaning and some say it helps accuracy, but all say it can't hurt if done the right way.

Thanks for the reply KID. I have read all the faqs and postings on barrel prep but I just wanted to know if I could use the rouge. Maybe I am just to dang cheap.

Any fine metal polish will work well, the secret is just doing it.  ;)

quickdtoo is right,I think alot of what we use and swear by are probably common materials, but the firearms label gets us.I am finding out with BP lubes, they can be costly to buy,but can be made as good or better at home.
