Georgia 3-4 Day Hike
« on: March 24, 2009, 02:44:44 PM »
Anyone know of a good 20 to 30 mile hike in Georgia other than the AT?  Something that might take 2 1/2 to 4 days.

BornSouthern, I have hiked trails in many states and the one that really has caught my fancy is the Chattooga trail in north Georgia. This trail is the most pleasant and appealing as I have ever seen. My wife and I can hardly wait until the summer arrives for us to get on the trail. The first segment is about 10 miles long with plenty of water on the way for camping. The trail mergers with the Bartram for a while then branches out to a more northly direction into North Carolina. We love the trail and usually take a day or two every summer to haul all the trash we find in the off areas. We see few people on the trail but it is not the trail to be seen and see on (the AT is for that). I have walked the AT for the most part and still love the little Chattooga Trail the best. Feel free to PM me on the subject if you wish. Tryit.
