Legality of Militia's
« on: March 24, 2009, 03:02:25 PM »
I am not a lawyer but I am a law abiding citizen who has seen my gun rights attacked for 35 years now. Does anyone know if there is a point at which people can legally band together as a militia. As much as I may have disagreed with David Koresh, I despised the use of force shown to try and enforce minor arms violations at Waco. Don't think it won't happen to us also.

Not a lawyer either and don't know the legality of "militias". but you may be deemed in one for posting here!

Seems there is all kinds of "militia" criteria we don't even know about.

Seems to me it would be "unlawful acts" that would be unlawful not groups of people.

You can form a militia anytime you want to. It would be like a national guard or reserve unit formed trained ready to go but doing nothing until needed.
the nation that forgets it defenders will itself be forgotten

If he is the commander, I'm screwed for sure.

As for the militia, I was just wondering. I can't run for office because I am not rich but I am fed up with all the lying, cheating, scum in office. That is not to say that there may not be a few good elected officials but whatever happened to the term public service. However, my fear is losing this country to a way of life I do not approve of for me and my family and I know more than a few folks who want to preserve that same life.

"Due to the current economical and political situation, a lush environment for militia activity has been created,"

No crap.

Perhaps the gov't might consider that they are doing something wrong instead of us. Oh, I forgot, read my bio quote...LOL

You are correct. There are only very few. By in large, they are all low lifes that ignore our founding principals.
