The 9th and 10th Amendment movements in some 20 States.

IMHO this is where we should be addressing our political views and the men behind this movement should be the ones we support when and whereever we can.

The separation of powers was essential to prevent the consolidation of government and the formation of centralized, authoritarian tyranny to which all governments are prone. Jefferson has often been referred to as a proponent of "States Rights," but his main interest was not so much in the rights of States in and of themselves, but rather in a division of powers in order to prevent the destruction of liberty that would inevitably result from a national government that gathered all powers unto itself.

I agree.

great idea but no state will pass it because the feds would cut off their money supply. There are a few laws on the books now due to federal blackmail the helmet law for motorcycles and the seat belt law are two examples "If you don't pass this you dont get highway funding" was the tactic used and the states folded like lawn chairs.
the nation that forgets it defenders will itself be forgotten

While I agree the fact of life is that in today's America they almost always are.

torpedoman is correct, and that's the way it's been and will be....until....the money runs out.
Once the federal $$ runs dry, or our currency is converted to some world system, then you'll see movements like this really take off.  These actions now are laying the groundwork and thought processes to enact them down the road

It seems that our representative government has gone from "representing me in Washington", to "doing what they think is best for me", and, in the last few years, to "doing what is best for the lobbyist and big banks to get reelected".

There is but one lonely individual in Washington representing us.
The sole purpose of government is to protect your liberty. The Constitution is not to restrict the people, but to restrict government.  Ron Paul

The two enemies of the people are criminals and government, so let us tie the second down with the chains of the constitution so the second will not become the legalized version of the first. - Thomas Jefferson

the federal government was created by the states specifically to be an agent of the states. Unfortunately, over the years the states have become agents of the federal government.

This is fundamentally what  the problem is here!

It has happened in my opinion because we have sat back and accepted the status quo from Washington!

"Oh they must know what they're doing." "We elected them let them handle it"

What needs to come from this is Term limits, those guys have made this their livelihood and gotten rich doing it.
The founding fathers never meant it to be that way, they were supposed to be part timers that only met occasionally to keep up with the business of the country. It was never intended that they move there and constantly make "new legislation and expenditure"

We have been sold down the creek by career politicians!
“Owning a handgun doesn’t make you armed any more than owning a guitar makes you a musician.”

"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery."

We are controled (those idiots in Washington TOO) by the Banking system, don't you see? I havsn't spoken to one person that wanted the bailout to happen yet it did. Our reps didn't vote the way we wanted them to they voted the way they were told to vote. And now China has stepped in to say we need a NEW world Currency. Our children and grandchildren are screwed, my friends, unless something happens.
