I bought a slingshot about a month ago.
The idea was to hunt small game with it (squirrels, rabbits)
So much for that... I can't hit a thing with it :D

Get used to shooting with white marbles. You can really see them fly and your brain will learn where the marble goes. Take a relaxed approach to your aiming instead of concentrating on it. Yet make sure you hold the pouch at the same place by your chin every time. I like to put the knuckle of my thumb in the corner of my mouth. You will get good quick. Have fun :D

Sure why not no one else much is posting here. I reckon a slingshot is a slingshot. We can do like they do on TV and differentiate them by "high caliber" and "low caliber" I guess. By the way what the hell is a "high caliber" anyway?

Spanky,
Go get a bag of MM peanuts for practice in the back yard.
They will still break a window.  And if you get boared you can eat your ammo.

When i was a kid, we used plums, both ripe and green for ammo. Worked great, 1000's available. The ripe ones exploded on impact. The green ones hurt at close range, Kinda like paintball.

LOL... I never thought of that ;D
I wouldn't be able to get much practice in with edible ammo. ;) :D

I recently bought a slingshot from chief AJ, it's similar to the old whamo slingshots. As kids we got purity good with them. Of course we lived with them. My family put in a 120 foot drive covered with small rock. I picked up a pocket full every day to shoot.
Your right about the marbles though that's what chief AJ recommends and used some as a kid but they were too expensive for me back then.

When i 1st got my slingshot and i used to use it a lot more then now(it was my varmint weapon for some years) i used to be able to shoot a 25cent coin out of the air. I was real good but i have not picked it up for some years now.

I used to use 38cal steel, rocks(from the train tracks) , 30-50cal blackpowder balls, 44mag SWC bullets, and dollar store mables.

i hunted and killed everthing from mice to once a beaver, all clean kills to. I started with a Marksman Pack-A-Long Model 3040  and then move up to the Laserhawk Adjustable Slingshot 3061. I also have a Trumark Wrist-Braced slingshot WS-1 and FS-1 Folding  but marksmans are my hunting rigs.  Once you get a gun you kind of forget about slingshots :'(

Is that the same Chief AJ that used to do accuracy work on Ruger 10/22s ? (maybe he still does) He did
some fine work with barrels and triggers.

I have a Trumark Wrist-Braced slingshot WS-1 and FS-1 Folding that I use to use a lot, not as much any more my ammo is getting low. I use the ball bearings from the motor bearings we replace where I worked, had a never ending supply until I retired  ;D they were 7/16" and deadly, it would go through both sides of an empty soda can or  explode a full one almost as bad as a 22 would. Thinking about it makes me want to get it out and kill a couple soda cans  ;D

Been years since I thought about slingshots (great memories) ... Use to have an old Wrist Rocket I think it was called. Deadly if I hit what I was aiming at ... Soda bottles old 45 records etc.. Never seriously hunted with one , but  now giving it more thought a sling shot would definitely make a great addition to stuff into a survival backpack (even more so if the Ammo were M&M's as previously suggested. !!!!!!)
