I Went to the Dark Side
« on: March 26, 2009, 01:57:58 PM »
In a moment of weakness I ordered a Glock 23 that should be in tomorrow.  This is the first bottom feeder that I have owned in the last 10 or 12 years since I traded my last Glock off for a Ruger Blackhawk.  Well, at least I didn't trade of any revolvers to get it. It should be a fun plinker anyway.  :)

I knew you'd be disappointed Lloyd and that's the part that hurts me the most. :-[  How about if I go and buy another single action or a lever gun to make up for it? ???  I did need something to go with the black rifles though. :)

my "bottom feeder" came to me kind of funny,i was working with a plumber one day feeding him fittings on a repair job and he said "ya know, now that i'm married and have kids i sure wish somebody would give me 300 bucks for a Colt Commander i need to get out of the house"....told him if he'd bring it to my house tonight i would "help" him out....well,he showed up,showed me the gun and i was slightly discouraged cuz i could tell it wasn't a Commander first glance...looked it over, threw the money at him as casual as possible. When it was all done i paid 300 bucks for a Mk 4 Government model 70 Series that he bought new, fired 300 rounds of target loads thru it,then put it away till i came along....oh yeah,he had this pistol ramped and throated,3lb trigger job, and match grade barrel bushing fitted inside and out,all done by a very good gunsmith.....i basically bought a gold cup with 300 rds thru it for 300 bucks, still got it and will always have it

Mine is a model 20.  It gets self concious when it goes to the range with my super blackhawk and Freedom arms 454.  So I guess I'm saying don't feel bad.  Haha- bottom feeder, thats funny.

I also have a Kimber .45, Berretta 92, Sig P229, and a Glock 23.

They seem to go well with my numerous SA's and Da's revolvers! ;D

I have a m31 and a m33. Had a m23 also. Both .357 sigs were my duty and backup guns. Cant beat a glock if you are wantin something that loads a little faster than a Ruger n.m. Also have had a couple of 1911,s through the years.

Being older than most, I've sinned more than most, but I am working toward forgiveness.  Despite my Woodsman, Supermatic Citation and .22 PPK/s, on through my P7 PSP to my Pro Carry and series 70 Gold Cup, I have yet to hear the siren's song of poly.  Through all diversions, I remain true to my single actions, numbering only four Colts and seven Rugers.  My out-the-door, grab-first pieces remain my tired old 4.6" stainless Single Six from 1974 and my .44 Special Blackhawk custom from 1976.  While tarnished, I remain untainted.

While wheel guns are my favorite and I have more than my wife likes, I do have a Beretta 92 and 96 with some of the 40 round mags, just because I can.  Once in a while I'll load up the 40's and go to the range and make big holes in the targets and spray a whole bunch of brass, then take out the wheelies and make holes at 50, 100, and up yards that the bottom feeders just can't seem to do as well...
