Well good morning Montana.  The coffee is hot and good, and I assure you that it will keep you awake  ;D

Of course yesterday was a great day outside, nice and sunny almost into the 40's, but today is another story.

Mornin' y'all.  Still not back to work yet, so I have been exploring.  Just trying to get to know this area better.  I moved to Missoula from Butte last year and well, its a little bit of a different ball game around here.  I was on the east side of the Bitterrroot valley a couple of days ago exploring on foot.  I was hoping to move in on some wintering herds, but saw very little game present at the location, but I did find some sign, beaucoup, from late fall and early winter.  Obviously, given the amount of elk smart pills on the ground and a slope that is packed in like one big bed, I will certainly remember this area.  I think, today, I will go down that valley again and do some more exploring.  I am looking, as well, for a nearby area to do some shootin below the snow line.
  My friends call me Sourdough, but on gbo, that was already used so I went with a slight deviation adding the MT for Montana or mountain.  Sourdough is a name that is synonimous with the term old timer.  Anyways, I am compelled to admit, that this gbo forum kinda makes me (39yo) feel like a pin feathered chick sticking my head out of the shell.  I mean that, of course, 8) in regards to the incredible amount of knowledge and wisdom that is assembled here.

OH P.S. The Monatana Forum is a lot like our great state, realy friendly.  You all have a good day

Good Morning Montana!

Chilly, overcast, and yucky here in NE Wisconsin. 21 degrees.

The old hot water heater finally blew (literally) out today. Last week it was the refrigerator. Thank goodness the rest of the appliances are up to date.

Oldest daughter brought the grandbabies over last night and also brought me a nice shelf to place on my loading bench.

Nice shooting Montanan on those targets you posted on the other thread.

Don't work to hard this weekend Richard. You don't want to be making a job out of a weekend off.

Here is a poor pic (phone cam) of some elk on the west side of the Bitterroot.  I saw two herds on the west side totaling about 80 head.  I saw lots of turkeys and deer(mostly whitetail).  The elk on the west bench are still down low.  I think that is because the Bitterroot Mountains dont have the wide, exposed slopes like the Sappphires.  Just a guess.

Howdy fellers.  Got up in the mid 40's today and got rid of most of the snow, and will get warm enough tomarrow to finish off all but the drifts.  Sounds like mid to high 50's Sat.  If there is some wind with that will be a snow eater (Chinook) for sure.  I do like the changing seasons here.  Don't think I could take the south anymore.  (Think I heard Richard say he has 2 seasons, wet and damp. ;D)  Richard, I think those Montana Bullet Works bullets will put a grin on yer face.  If ya got any LilGun powder try that and ya might like it.  Got a gun show in the mornin and goin to meet a new 'smith/dealer that a friend has been talkin about.  Sounds like a nice feller, just like ya'll.  (Only 2 years in Texas and that still slips out even after being gone 36 years.)  G'nite guys.  DP
