The website is the NRAs news site.  No catches.  I'm pretty sure they're just trying to boost their numbers and are hoping people will pay to renew next year.  I think its a pretty good idea.

I've seen this same offer being hashed around on many sites and so far everyone has come to the conclusion that it is legit. One fellow even had an email response from the NRA stating that it was indeed being offered. The only thing that bothered me about it was that I can not find any advertisement or promotion on any NRA site that links to the above offer. It's like if you happen to discover the offer, then the NRA will honor it, but it sure doesn't look like the NRA is going out of its way to promote it.

Well I just joined too, so I'll know soon enough if there's any strings attached.  I'm sure their logic is that a certain percentage will contiue their membership next year, and the additional members will provide a little more political muscle.  I've been meaning to join for awhile now, so this free offer is just the jumpstart I needed.

You have a point but I think this will do the NRA good for the simple fact there will be greater numbers in their membership. Dale

Oh hey, Tommy, I understood your comments and I agree that it could be very possible that someone could Spam something like this, or be trying to simply get our info, or put us on some kind of a black list.

I was just pointing out that the Free NRA offer is being openly discussed on many forums, even Sean Hannity's forum. :D Also, many Blog Spaces are directing people to the NRA site for the free offer. I was just thinking that if the OP on this thread was responsible for all the threads and Blogs on the rest of the internet, then he has been one busy fellow.

Talk about paranoia :o

www.nrahq.org is the NRAs news website.  I looked it up because I thought it was odd to.  I originally found it on taxidermy.net and though some people here might like to speard the word.  I'd imagine that the NRA is trying to boost its numbers and is hoping that some of the people that take advantage of this free membership will pay to renew next year or donate.

The reason that this link is showing up on gun sites is probably because boosting NRA numbers is a good thing.

Well PeculiarSatyr, like I mentioned in an earlier post, I got six friends to join up through that offer and would have used it for myself and family if we all weren't already members of the NRA.
