Colt Woodsman
« on: March 29, 2009, 01:30:41 AM »
A friend of mine called yesterday, and wanted to know if I wanted his Grandaddy's old pistol. I got over there to see what it was, and it was a 2nd series Target model (6" skinny bbl.) Colt Woodsman made in 1948. It's got a good bit of wear over the years, but functions fine and still hits where you aim. Cost me $150, I didn't think twice. :)

JMO, but that sounds more like a very good friend, indeed - rather than a steal.

Wasn't the "skinny bbl", both short & long, the Sport Model, and not the Target Model ?
Does it have fixed or adj sights ?

And, of course - WHERE'S THE PICS ?   ;)   ;D

The short bbl. was the sport model. The 6" came with adjustable sights and was the target model. They also made a Match Target with a 6" slabside bbl. I'll try to get pics up when I get home.

"Cost me $150, I didn't think twice."

Obviously neither did your friend.   :-X

One species has evolved into obese cranial fatheads with thin skin in comparison that whines about anything and everything as their shield against their environment. Meus

You got taken for a ride!!!! What a ripoff, your friend really got ya good! :)

Um...I say that because I have my grandaddy's Colt woodsman 2nd series Target model...for $0 :D Grandpa didn't have any use for it and since Im the only grandson that really owns guns, I got it!

They are AWESOME guns. Pretty accurate and very well built.

Enjoy it, Mine does great on standard velocity ammo, High velocity shouldn't be a problem, either.
