« on: March 31, 2009, 03:19:39 AM »
I have found some .45 acp  u.m.c.   230 gr hardball at a pretty good price for these days. Any expericance with   this ammo. I expect it would work but wondering if any one has used it.

I've used it in a XD-45, Kimber, and an FNP-45. No problems with feed or eject. Accuracy is good enough to do the job.

markp,
ANY available ammo you find on the shelf in .45acp from any major maker these days is good! Finding it at a reasonable price is just a bonus!! Hope it's still there, you snooze, you lose----------------------

A friend of mine gave me some Speer 45acp brass with sp primers, I was told they used small primers because they dont make non-toxic large pistol primers, so the brass with small pistol primers are probably used for some type of clean-range indoor ammo with non-toxic primers.

If you can find ammo for your 45 ACP get it, the umc is not the best ammo, but it will work.
