Hog Vitals Pic

Hmmmmm guess we better give credit where credit is due so we can stay out of trouble.  I scanned that drawing from a very old issue of Peterson's Hunting magazine.  They used to occasionally have some very good illustrations of game anatomy.  I've posted it in other hunting forums over the years.  I'm glad to see it's making the rounds.

I believe the pic was originally credited to Bob Robb. Not sure where he snagged it. I posted it on a few hunting forums and put it on our hog hunting page a few years ago to help in where to aim.

After skinning a bunch of hogs and seeing that the spine was too high up by the neck and the lungs were too high I redid the pic to better show them.

There is a girl hunter on the Bowsite who actually cut a hog open on one side to show the vitals better. Can't remember her name but I beleive she ran a hog hunting ranch somewhere.

What ever you say Jessie, but the drawing posted by cknight is one I scanned some time ago from a Peterson's Hunting magazine.  Not that it makes a hill of beans but just want to keep the record straight.

No hill of beans Ironwood, the pic was in Peterson's as you say and credited to Bob Robb there. It's the same pic in his book. As you said, "Credit where credit is due", that's all I was trying to help out with.

I was told when I inquired as to who drew the pic that Robb snagged it from someone else. Don't know who is the original artist.

Anyone know?

I just came back from a boar hunt at Bowguns and I used that pic placing my shot.
