Update on GB?
« on: March 31, 2009, 01:06:20 PM »
Has anyone heard how Bill is doing?  I remember reading in his post that today (or maybe yesterday) was the day he was getting more tests ran.

Hope all is well Bill, and my prayers are with you, sir.
This that I do, I do by my own free will.

Here is the URL for the thread I posted about flunking the stress test:

http://www.gboreloaded.com/forums/index.php/topic,167595.0.html

And here is the update I posted in response to a question there on my current status:

Quote
Actually yesterday's appointment was with the eye doctor who gave me a clean bill of health with my eyes. Vision was 20-30 and healthy. He did mention some very small cataracts which he said likely would need to be dealt with but several years on down the road.

On March 30 I went to the cardiologist. He indicated that the results of the stress test read by another cardiologist not him indicated a worsening situation and he felt some additional measures are required. I go on Thursday of this week for an echo cardiogram and Holter monitor whatever the heck that is. I am scheduled for a heart cath/angioplasty on April 9.

The chest pain doesn't seem to want to go away tho it doesn't seem to be getting any worse either. My shortness of breath issues however do seem to be getting worse. When I returned from the eye doctor yesterday my youngest son Phil and I went out and planted 15 blackberry bushes before the rain ran us back inside. By the time I got back to the house I was so drained and out of breath I had to lay down for a nap and to breath oxygen. After the nap we were able to go back out and dig another 15 holes or so to get more plants in the ground. Again when I got inside I was pretty drained and had to rest before I was able to eat supper.

I tire so easily I can do but a very little at a time. I have to spread things out over several days that most healthy folks could easily do in a half day. More and more I need oxygen after each small work session or short walk. I'm actually supposed to be on oxygen 24-7 but stubbornly refuse to use it except when sleeping for now. If the doctors don't figure out the shortness of breath cause soon tho I may have no choice.

GB, I know what you are going through first handily. I find my self in the same position. I require oxygen 24/7 just recently. Been through an angioplasty and now I'm told I have damage to the right of my heart and pulmonary hypertension. All that we can do is keep up the faith. Like you say, plan accordingly. Glad the eyes checked out.
At least you can still see to shoot! :D

Make sure you talk to the heart doc doing the cath before hand about checking the veins/arteries that control breathing.
After the stint (? spelling) they put in that vein/arterie, my breathing improved more than 100%.
I now have 7 of the stints in me after 6 heart attacks and three angioplastys over a 5 year period.
The last was several years ago and I seem to be doing great.
My breathing has dropped back just a little which I hope will improve now that I am going to quit smokeing to keep from paying THE LIAR IN THE WHITE HOUSE his blood-tax money!

Hope all goes well for you my friend.
We will be praying for you.

Been There/ Done That
You will feel like a new man before long after this is all over!
I know I did!
