Hi,
Not sure if this belongs here or in the reloading section,
Just picked up a new revolver for fun and trail use. In going through the various data sources I am finding a wide variety in basic loadings for the very old 38 special ctg. I sent an e-mail to Uberti and was told that the Stallion model is not rated for +P ammo and thus I want to keep thing to a reasonable level. I have been loading 5gr unique under most everything except when I use 158gr lead then I drop back to 4.5gr. Some of the newer books are quoting lower pressure levels and lower powder charges. I have been using Speers number 11 manual for years and it lists a pressure level of 18,900 CUP for standard loads and 22,400 CUP for +P levels.
What gives here, I am just a little frustrated.
The Uberti is a sweet little carry piece that has the same basic frame size of Rugers single six models. I hope this is a spur to Ruger to make a similar model and perhaps to bring back the 32mag version. Perhaps Uberti will make a 32mag version as well.
I will try to post pics when I can get my computer to behave properly.
