I have a funny story involving this topic. My company underwent "Diversity Training".....yeah.... Part of the program was that we got "Diversity Beans" to eat. Basically, they are jelly beans where the color does not match the flavor...eg black may be cherry and green may be black licorice, etc... Well, the 1st one I ate was pink and it was black licorice which I hate. I immediately spit it out in the trash. The theory behind the activity is that you can't judge what is inside by the color of the outside.
At the end of the course the instructor called on me and asked me what lesson I learned. I told her that I learned to not eat any of them because black licorice makes me gag. She was not amused and during the follow up meeting I was informed that my humor is not always understood by all and probably better kept to my self in public settings.
