I am looking at a stainless steel barrel a friend has for sale, Well, two questions really, what is a fair price and is it an accurate and user friendly barrel? dan

Price would have to do with the condition. They can be very accurate, but are not the most user friendly as supplied. The breech plug/primer carriers, collapsable ramrod and jag are not very well designed.
With all that said, I own three of them and are my favorite rifle to carry. I have custom breech plugs and ramrod jags to make them nore user friendly. All of the shortcomings can be overcome, but that adds cost to the overall package.

yu should get that stainless barrel and shoot sum big conicals out of 'er!!
