Traded BP Rifle for New .357 Convertable Black Hawk.......
« on: September 07, 2003, 03:34:19 PM »
I won a Winchester Bolt Action Black Powder Rifle (last years model) at my gun club raffle a couple of weeks ago. Was offered $250 store credit at local Gun Shop for it. I ordered a new Model #BN34X, 4&5/8's" barreled .357 Magnum New Model Black Hawk with extra 9mm cylinder for $359 and used the store credit as a trade. Not a bad investment for $109 plus the $15 Raffle Ticket.

I thought about all the different calibers and settled on the .357/9mm because I already have a Pistol and Carbine in 9mm and plenty of military 9mm ammo on hand.

I already have a .44Mag and a .454 for hunting large game so I saw no need for another .44 mag or a new .45LC or .41Mag.

I figured I can shoot .357Mag, .38 Special AND the 9mm for small game and many more lower recoiling practice rounds (9mm being soo cheap today).

My questions are:
1.  What can I expect in accuracy from the .357Mag cylinder with a .357" dia. bullet in the  in 4 & 5/8's",  .357" dia. barrel?

2.  What typy of accuracy from the 9mm cylinder with a .355" dia. bullet in 4 & 5/8's", .357" dia.barrel?

3.  Will the Ruger 9mm cylinder handle Military Machine Gun Rounds and +P ammo? I don't have any of either type, but it would be nice to know I could use them if I wanted/had to.
