Mrs. Mohawk Applicant.....?
« on: April 02, 2009, 10:10:14 PM »
Hey guys and gals. We have a Mrs. Mohawk applicant. The girl in the avatar. The picture was taken on a pub crawl on sixth street in Austin about a month ago but we won't go there..... ::)  Anywho, she asked me to marry her tonight, because I didn't ask. That's why I am on GB's now, can't sleep. Marriage? Really? I told her I was gonna check in with the GB family before I gave an answer. I'm kinda leaning toward "yes". Last weekend we took a trip to Marble Falls, TX to our ranch. She actually climbed up into a deer stand to take pictures of the draw to send to her father in Arizona. Good sign there. And her dad is a hunter, outdoorsman, and all around great guy. But the Mohawk, married. Wow!!! She said she is going to get her own GB account since she is an outdoor gal herself. We have known each other for about 20 years, since high school. I asked why she asked me and she said because I never did. Anyway, this is my early morning, can't sleep, and about to get hitched rant. Thanks for listening!!!!!  :)

Only you can answer this question.  The wife and I hit 25 years this year.  I couldn't imagine being without her.

If you haven't already, I'd sit down and discuss, the possibility of children, finances, dept, and religion.

If your values align then you'll have a pretty good chance of making it.

It sounds like you know the gal pretty well, and if she's stayed this long....well......?

I got married 34 years ago.  We ran away with $1.57 to our name.  I wouldn't trade it for the world.  20 years seems like long enough to wait.

Another big plus. I might have been worried that you were having a whirlwind romance with a potential (golddigger) considering your intrest in the Ranch and all.
This brings us back to VC's good post on the discussion of Children & religion with your Lady.

I told her yes this morning. My Lt. gave me the afternoon off to have lunch with her and to seal the deal. Meeting her in about an hour. All my brothers that responded are obviously on the same page. And the coolest thing she said was that she was the "anonymous" caller that has haunted me and always hung up on me the last 15 years. She always knew my number.  :)   She just never had the heart to speak when I answered. I played guitar at a local rock club here in Austin one night. It was Van Halen night, I was on guitar, and we played Van Halen songs for the entire set. We played "Can't Stop Lovin' You", and after which we took a break and I went to the bar for a drink. She walked up, said my name, and it was like we were standing at our lockers in high school again. Total comfort.

First marriage, we were madly in love, (insert lust here too) or so we thought.  Lasted three years.

Second marriage, we discussed things.  Talked about what we could live with, what we could not live with, and where we could compromise.  It's been 33 years now and still going strong.  She is my best hunting partner.  When women ask how we have stayed togeather so long, she says "Simple, he taught me to shoot.  And I can shoot better than he can".  Haven't decided if that was a good thing or not.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Congrats Mohawk! Sounds like a very nice gal. Wishing you two a life long wonderful marriage. No institution better than that of marriage and family.
