I remember as a kid in 2nd grade (1969) the school gave us all fluoride treatments. They packed our cheeks full of cotton which was held in by some metal clips, and then put a fluoride paste all over our teeth.
The "old ladies" who did that to us looked like they could have been concentration camp guards.LOL

A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Ever noticed how you can remember things from your childhood, yet today you can't recall what you had for lunch yesterday?

We had one of those too, Bill. She was built like a refrigerator with a head.

It appears that where I currently live, they do add fluoride to the water

Water source: Ground

Water system type: Community

Does this water system supply fluoridated water?

Yes. This water system adjusts the natural fluoride concentration upward to the optimal level for the prevention of dental caries (cavities).

Optimal fluoride concentration: 1.10 mg/L

Date fluoridation started: March 1, 1966

This water system is under the jurisdiction of: State of Wisconsin

It's probably been since the movie "Dr. Strangelove" that people dismiss the idea of fluoride as being something to be concerned about. I'd still like to know if there is anyway to heal,or reverse whatever bad stuff it does to a person. I'm on well water now,and try to avoid it in toothpaste.

 Nothing that I have found...
-------------------------------------

Most people are aware that there is a controversy surrounding public fluoridation of drinking water. Here is a list of ways to obtain drinking water without fluoride. In addition, I've listed water purification methods which do not remove fluoride from water.

Ways to Remove Fluoride from Water
Reverse Osmosis Filtration
This is used to purify several types of bottled water (not all), so some bottled waters are unfluoridated. Reverse osmosis systems are generally unaffordable for personal use.

Activated Alumina Defluoridation Filter
These filters are used in locales where fluorosis is prevalent. They are relatively expensive (lowest price I saw was $30/filter) and require frequent replacement, but do offer an option for home water filtration.

Distillation Filtration
There are commercially available distillation filters that can be purchased to remove fluoride from water. On a related note: When looking at bottled water, keep in mind that 'distilled water' does not imply that a product is suitable for drinking water and other undesirable impurities may be present.

These Do NOT Remove Fluoride
Brita, Pur, and most other filters.
Some websites about fluoride removal state otherwise, but I checked the product descriptions on the companies' websites to confirm that fluoride is left in the water.

Boiling Water
This will concentrate the fluoride rather than reduce it.

Freezing Water
Freezing water does not affect the concentration of fluoride.

-----------------------------------------------------

Steps to Reduce Fluoride Exposure
Don't take fluoride supplements.

Read labels on bottled beverages.
Unless they are made using distilled or reverse-osmosis water, they are probably made with fluoridated public water.

Consider using unfluoridated toothpaste.

Avoid drinking black or red tea.
They come from two different types of plants, but both leaves naturally contain high amounts of fluorine.

Be wary of tinned fish and canned food items.
Fluoride may be used as a preservative.

Avoid black or red rock salt
or items containing black or red rock salt.

Avoid using chewing tobacco.

Avoid long term use of medication that contains fluorine.
Certain antidepressants and medications for osteoporosis contain fluorine.

What about natural floride According to a dentist years ago he told me he knew I was from Louisiana because of the amount of floride on my teeth. Said there was high levels of natural floride in our water. And I grew up on a farm with a well

Supposedly natural fluoride is not toxic to the body.

p.s.  there are all kinds of fluorides, but this is what is added to your drinking water____hexafluorosilicic acid .
Fluoride cannot generally be labeled as toxic, but there are combinations with certain salts that are.
It is documented that 4grams of fluoride is lethal.

Floride doesn't hurt a thing.  It keeps your teeth from rotting out.  All flouride is natural.  It comes from the earth.

Only a moron would remove the flouride from their drinking water.

According to ACSH, some of its funding from the food industry dried up after those companies were acquired by Philip Morris, which does not like the position that ACSH has taken against tobacco. "ACSH's warnings about cigarette smoking resulted in the loss of substantial contributions from food manufacturers that had been acquired by tobacco companies. A metal pipe manufacturer withdrew its support after ACSH defended the safety of the proper use of plastic pipes," ACSH states on its website. [14]

Flouride is a great thing.  It will not harm you.  It will keep your teeth from falling out.  My brothers grew up on well water.  They have dentures.  I grew up on city water.  I have all of my teeth and they are perfect.

"Repeated doses of infinitesimal amounts of fluoride will in time reduce an individual`s power to resist domination, by slowly poisoning and narcotizing a certain area of the brain, thus making him submissive to the will of those who wish to govern him. [A convenient light lobotomy]

Well, there it is. Fluoride has to be the reason why the wife (hen) can have her way with me at the drop of hat without me having any say in the matter. I'm being dominated and it's because I used toothpaste with fluoride. Oh well, guess there's nothing I can do about it. I'll just have to put up with the abuse. :D
