END-CAP, SPACER and TRIGGER-GUARD MATERIALS
« on: April 04, 2009, 10:39:20 AM »
How do the various materials hold up for the add -on items on NEF guns? I see brass listed, why not bronze? Ihave a pewter forend cap on my CVA Mountain gun ,but not many others. Hammers might have to be steel, but I think of very hardalloys of bronze as possible and as I remember 7075 T6 aluminum is very hard and, because of its lighter weght, might quicken its response . Titanium would also. Ability to do the job required ,durability, ease of production [cost] material availability, [cost] and appearance are all factors. What is the order of preference to the average gun owner?  Ken
