Remington 1917

Hi this is my first post.

I've got one of these rifles that I assume is a reproduction of the enfield 1917, it is in .30-'06.

Do any of you know who makes scope mountings for this rifle and where I can get some? Also, can any of you recommend scopes?

13 Bravo:  The P-17 Enfield was made by 3 firms that I know of:  Winchester, Remington and Eddystone.  The P-17 is an excellent action and the strongest of all the military bolt actions made.  I had one by Winchester with a 3/18 ordnance barrel stamp and the darn thing would eat any 30-06 loading I put throught it with incredible accuracy.  

If you cruise the Shotgun Blues you should find a scope mount setup for the 1917 that will allow you to keep it's original military configuration.  Otherwise, you will have to have the rear sight ears ground off to get the beast scoped as a sporter.  

As for scopes - I just purchased a couple of Bushnells and think they are fine.  I would avoid Tasco and Simmons.  Weaver makes good scopes, and Leopolds and others in that price range are just excellent.  It depends on how much you want to spend.  Hope this helps.  Mikey.

Yah I do notice that thing has 4 stomachs for ammo.

Are there any multi power scopes you can recommend?

I have a Remington 1917 in 30-06.I shot more deer with it then I can count.It has a peep sight.It was sporterized,but not to good of a job.It can out shoot a lot of different brands of guns.I had a range spotter coment about it.He said that gun could of been sargent yorks rifle in ww1,
if it was in such n such caliber. :lol:

Never seen a reproduction of that one so I'll wager it
is original. I have it's brother the P14 in .303 British
and it is deadly accurate. Practice with that peep sight
and forget the scope! within reasonable range,
you will not need it! Great weapon!
