This just in...
« on: April 07, 2009, 08:49:27 AM »
...quote printed from the telephone call-in "Gripe" section of the newspaper:

Quote
To all you hunters who kill animals for food, shame on you; you ought to go to the store and buy the meat that was made there, where no animals were harmed.

I thought you needed as good a laugh as I got when I read it...and am still LMAO!

Wow, I didn't realize that they made meat at the store.   I must have missed that episode of "How It's Made."   I wonder how they "made" the meat without hurting animals???  This is amazing!

Someone should take this one on a guided tour of a slaughter house.  They would think hunting was being mighty kind to animals after that.

One of the things that I always wondered about is.  Why do vegetarians make meat flavored products?   Meat eaters don't make grass flavored steaks!

Grass flavored steak was sold by Lykes Bros in their srore at the Fisheating Cr. camp ground Palmdale, Fl back in the mid 70's. On the grill it smelled like bahia grass burning and it tasted like the smell of burning bahia grass. That beef never saw grain of any kind and I beleve it was killed at the North Island cow camp.

There was a little Dutch boy, his name was Johnny Verbeck
He was a dealer in sausages and sauerkraut and spec
He made the finest sausages you ever would have seen
One day he invented the sausage-making machine

Oh, Mr. Johnny Verbeck, how could you be so mean
I told you you'd be sorry for inventing that machine
Now all the neighbors' cats and dogs will never more be seen
They've all been ground to sausages in Johnny Verbeck's machine

One day a little fat boy came walking through the door
He bought a pound of sausages and laid them on the floor
The boy began to whistle, he whistled up a tune
And all the little sausages were dancing 'round the room

Oh, Mr. Johnny Verbeck, how could you be so mean
I told you you'd be sorry for inventing that machine
Now all the neighbors' cats and dogs will never more be seen
They've all been ground to sausages in Johnny Verbeck's machine

One day the thing was broken, the darn thing wouldn't go
So Johnny Verbeck, he climbed inside, to see what made it so
Along came his wife, who was walking in her sleep
She gave the crank an awful yank and Johnny Verbeck was meat

Oh, Mr. Johnny Verbeck, how could you be so mean
I told you you'd be sorry for inventing that machine
Now all the neighbors' cats and dogs will never more be seen
They've all been ground to sausages in Johnny Verbeck's machine

Ran across a similar topic a while ago about cutting down trees. This person urged to stop cutting down trees and buy your paper at the store, not from the papermills accepting the freshly cut wood.

Richard,
You are killing me. My Dad used to sing that to me when I was a little kid at bed time. Haven't heard that in, I don't know how long.
