Good morning Montanan, dpe, Southpaw, Forster, MT_Sourdough, Atlaw, pab1, newstart2k, Skunk, kitchawan kid, lurker, CJ, Bilmac, thxmrgarand, Syncerus, Mcwoodduck, Brennemanj83, Old Shooter and TY22.

Overcast and 32 degrees right now suppose to be in the 50's today.

Plenty of activity at the Double D Gopher Ranch yesterday.  Got the  area for the lather cleaned up,  Moved the lathe into position for the lift and got the moving dolly off the bottom.   I cleared of the lathe bench and did some repairs to it.  I couldn't find one othe hooks I use on the chain to make the lift.

No problem, go to the hardware store and get another. Problem, truck is in the shop.  No problem, its three blocks to Oilfield lumber yard. Problem, I haven't walked that far since last deer season and before knee surgery 8 weeks ago. No problem, not only did I walk up to the Oilfield going right by Glacier motors and Ben Franklin and get my hook, then I walked down town to the Ford Dealer and met the wife as she was picking up the truck.

This may seem such a little thing, but these little land marks are great morale boosters.  In about 45 minutes, I am going walk up to the Post office and check the mail.

After lunch I am going to head north out of town and do a gopher survey to see if there are sufficient numbers to hunt.  Film at 11!

Good Morning Montana!

We might get up to 50 degrees today in NE Wisconsin, but we still have those darn North winds coming in at around 15 mph, so it's still a bit brisk.

Good deal on the walking Double D. Canon6 is right - walking about is great for the constitution. That was a good way to say that Canon6.

Heard good things about those t-Bolts, Southpaw. Looking forward to hearing how she shoots.

Hope you folks have a fantastic day.
Mike

Well I'm back.  1 mile round trip.  You know how your legs feel after the first day of hunting season and you spent all day hiking up and down the moutains or back and forth across the prairie, even though you always meant to spend the month before,  running and walking to get in shape.  You know achey and like they might fall off.  That's how my legs feel right now...that's great, because they didn't fail me and I have no pain.

Watching the news report on the Ship hijacking.   Crew retakes ship, one pirate in custody, three others are, "in the water."  Love the last part.   Be gentle and put them back whence they came!  What else can you do, ships no longer have yardarms.

Canon6 welcome to our daily gathering.

Doug, how are ya!  Glad yer gonna join us.  Howdy all!  Yep, yesterday was fantistic, we'll see what the rest of the week brings.  Guess they got the phone line fixed, haven't gotten kicked off here once tonight.  Twas still 64 when I came home at 6:30 tonight, had just a light mist come down for 2 minutes about 5.  I otta be doing a walkabout myself, Double D.  After hiking around and draggin deer last fall, I promised myself I would try to get in shape for this years hunt.  (Thought I had kids to do the dragging for the old man, didn't work to good though :-[).  Richard, don't worry about a little snow in April, we've had snow every month of the year somewhere in Montana. :D    Later, ya'll  DP

Went back to work to have money to shoot and fish, now I have no time to shoot and fish!  ???

Guess what? My girlfriend wanted to go shooting today.  We went shooting at our favorite little spot by Beavertail and then we did some exploring.  My girlfriend out shot me at a particular 10 shot grouping we did with a tree for a rest at about 85 yards.  She put about 8 of her shots into  2 inch grouping, putting my grouping to shame from the same position.
Her kids get out of school early tomorrow and they said that they wanted to go shooting.  :)  I will have to buy more ammo tomorrow before they get out of school.
Gotta git'me a bigger ice box
