My wife saw a nice one in the Mall parking lot today.  I wish we could hunt them.

Yep-
I've seen two this spring (or maybe the same one twice).
Both foraging along Hwy 90 right at dusk.

I have an uncle that lived in Weecki Wacki(spelling) and have seen them twice. We had two bear sightings there. There was a bear crossing sign that we thought was funny to see but the bears must have been trainned pretty good because that is were we had both sightings. This was around 12-15 years ago, man I am getting old.

When bird hunting over by Immokalee, my friend's high priced bird dog went into a mess of palmettos and started to bark and bark.  It wouldn't come out to my friend's calling, so in disgust and beginning to mutter about the dog's ancestors, he crawled through a 'tunnel' in the mess with intentions of draging him out.  When he got to where he could stand up, a bear stood up in front of him at the same time.  The result: one huge yell that is still un-interpertable, followed very closely by a shotgun blast, and lots of bushes shaking, rattling, and parting as the two went in opposite directions...fast.

Not many people think of bears in FL.  Pink flamingos...but not bears.   ;D

I know the one bear we seen looked pretty big and it was a sow with two cubs. It was right in front of where they have the mirmaid shows.

But you know, I never heard anyone complain about them. Nobody never said anything about them getting in there trash or anything.

The Ga. state record bear was killed in extreme south Ga. last year by a 16yr. old.  Just a few minutes from the Fla. line.  If I remember correctly, over 600#

We had a bear about 100 yards from the house last night.  That's the first one I've heard of south of Hwy. 98.  I live in a very urban setting.  I do have a pretty large tract of wetlands behind the house.

They used to have bear hunting in columbia and baker counties in fl.When it was stoped some say it was a political thing instead of having to do with there numbers.

Had a Black Bear run across the road in front of my motorcycle the last week of Feb.  I was going from Ft Lauderdale to Tampa.  I was on hwy 27 just NW of Lake Okeechobee.  I saw a yellow sign that had a Bear on it, I looked at the sign as I passed.  When I looked back at the road there was a Bear on the side of the road.  I slowed down, and it ran across the road.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.
