Turkeys in the schoolyard
« on: April 08, 2009, 05:06:19 PM »
I am a 6th grade teacher. I've been in the 6th grade way longer than Jethro.  Earlier this week there were 21 turkeys about 80 yards outside my classroom window.  I had to go look.  I'm sure the kids were thinking " The old geezer is ate up with turkeys! Keep looking pops, it gives us a break!"  They were still there at lunch time, so I got to watch them for a while then.  I have, and have had, some pretty good hunters for students.  That's nice.  I also have a very good teaching assignment. So when you hear a teacher whining about how bad their job is, remember that he or she does not speak for all teachers.  Also, probably the best Christmas present I ever got from a student is a muzzleloader short starter made from a piece of elk horn the kid picked up out west in a national park. This started out as a short post.  Oh well.
