My son in law, Paul martinez had seven + hours of surgery yesterday at Houston's MD Anderson hospital.
About three weeks ago he discovers a lump on his jaw. By the time he saw an Oncologist at MD Anderson it was the size of a small grapefruit.
A needle biopsy was negative but the Oncologist was not sure that it was a good biopsy because of the size and, at any rate it needed removing.
They cut his jaw bone and seperated the jaw to get at the tumor---removing all four wisdom teeth in the process. At least he was out for the wisdom teeth---I wasn't for mine.
The surgeon said, guardedly, that the tumor appeared clean but another biopsy was was done.
He will be in the hospital for a week.
Hopefully the tumor is benine.
Blessings
