i have to say i am impressed so far with them.. they take a real light photo but darken it in a photo editor and it is nice...

the push buttons seem real cheap and i see them being a problem down the road..

they have a sd card slot or internal memory

they use 4 "C" batteries

i have used one from the 2 pack and got these pics today..

for the price i have to say they are a good deal...

nothing real fancy but a nice cheaper way for most people to get into the trailcam sport..


i brightened these just a little and lessened the contrast just a touch

I HAVE SINCE ADDED 8 X C-SIZE RECHARGABLE BATTERIES FOR $30 AND 2 X  128MB SD CARDS FOR $7.50

SO FOR  LESS THAN $150 I AM TAKING PICTURES DAILY ... AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO FOR MANY MANY DAYS TO COME..   

WITH NO MORE MONEY TO SPEND ON BATTERIES OR FILM OR ANYTHING ELSE TO DO SO...

THE ONLY DOWNSIDE TO THESE CAMERAS SO FAR THAT I FOUND ARE :

THE BATTERIES GO IN EASY BUT ARE TRICKY TO REMOVE.,.. 
THEY SLIDE UP AND IN EASY...TO REMOVE THEM YOU HAVE TO PULL OUT AFTER PUSHING THEM UP AT THE SAME TIME..LOL

AND SOMETIMES I CAN'T GET THEM TO SHUT OFF WHEN I PUSH THE ON / OFF BUTTON.. NOT SURE IF IT IS STILL PROCESSING AND WILL SHUT OFF AFTER OR WHAT?

 I AM USSUALLY REMOVING THE BATTERIES TO RECHARGE THEM ANYWAYS SO I JUST GET A PIC OF ME UPCLOSE...LOL

THE PICS ARE A TOUCH TO BRIGHT, I USSUALLY JUST DARKEN OR ADJUST THE CONTRAST TO MAKE A GREAT LOOKING PIC..

 OTHER THAN THIS I LOVE THEM..

RATHER CHEAP DESIGN AND LOOK BUT HAVE LEFT THEM IN RAIN AND WIND.. AND IN ONE CASE WHEN MY TRI-POD TIPPED OVER FROM A GUST OF WIND IN A PUDDLE OF WATER..LOL

like you said, they work for a while, but mine busted after just under 1 year. i think water leaked into them. Now i spent the extra money for 2 cuddyback capture IRs ($220 each) they have lasted 1 year so far and i see them lasting for a long time to come. and I have been getting a ton more nightime pictures (the old ones did not pick it up for whatever reason) and have gotten much much less blank pictures (much faster trigger speed). those are good for beginners, but i would definatly spend the extra money and get a cuddyback.

I picked up a Wildgame Innovations S2 today for $69 due to recommendations on another site that is primarily a game camera site (commercial and home brew cameras). It may not hold up long term, but about twice a year my camera ends up under 2 - 4 feet of water when the river floods so I now try to keep them under $100.

I did some testing in the backyard and so far I am very satisfied with the flash range and trigger speed. I stood very still about 40 feet from the camera and waited for the time delay to time out (indicated by an LED). I would raise my arm from my side and it would consistently catch me before I got my arm shoulder height. I had read that the trigger speed was 1 to 1.25 seconds and I believe it.

My biggest concern right now is battery life. Once I have had it out a few months and I may void the warranty and hack it to add an external battery.

If it wasn't for the flooding I would suggest using something like Dow Corning High Vacuum Grease (made for o-rings and seals) on the door gasket to keep moisture out.

I bought two 5mp Timberviews about two weeks ago.  I have been testing them in the basement.  Wifey will not be pleased with all the pics I took of her carrying laundry and groceries downstairs!  Gander had two for $169 on these.
