Please Stand-Up and Make Your Voices Heard!

On Wednesday, April 15 it is vitally important that you come to the State Capitol in Madison and make your voices heard!

State Senator Jim Holperin (D-12), Chairman of the Transportation, Tourism, Forestry, and Natural Resources Committee, and State Representative Ann Hraychuck (D-28), Chairwoman of the House Fish and Wildlife Committee, have scheduled a joint hearing on deer hunting regulations. This is an ideal opportunity for all of Wisconsin’s sportsmen to speak their mind about the overwhelming amount of regulations placed upon hunting in Wisconsin.

The rules and regulations regarding deer hunting need to be dramatically simplified. It is also vitally important that Wildlife and Parks be separated from the control of the Department of Natural Resources, allowing it to be an independent agency once again. These two agencies once operated as separate entities until the mid-1960's. The combination of these two agencies could very well be the cause of many of these overbearing rules and regulations.

Please make every opportunity to attend this hearing.  The hearing will be held in Room 411 South at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15 in the capitol.  We are expecting a very large turnout and need a substantial pro-hunting crowd to come and make their voices heard.  Animal “rights,” anti-hunting extremists are sure to make their presence known so it is critical that we are heard loudly.

Wisconsin has one of the most complex sets of rules and regulations for deer hunting in the entire nation, which unfairly burdens hunters. It is time for that to improve.
