Well, I did all that I could do last night. My 12yr old grandson and I watched it together. He noted that there was nothing favorable being said about owning a firearm and and made the statement to me " Guns don't kill people, people kill people" early on in the program. As the program progressed, he and I discussed parts of it and I am pleased to tell you all, the training has taken root. This boy's got his head on straight and will pass on what he has learned.
I have only ever been to 2 gun shows in arenas such as the one they showed last night. Are the events and methods they portrayed accurate? I witnessed one such buy at a show, but it was obvious that the buyer(behind the table) and the seller had transacted some business earlier in the day and for all I know, the seller who walked up and initiated the sale, may have been another one of the dealers. Also, there were NO un-cased weapons entering or leaving the arena, as was shown last night on the program. I also recall watching a couple of dealers on their cell phones, checking out buyers before they would complete a sale. That portion of the program was the most disturbing to me, as far as the bias of the piece was concerned.
It was a set up slanted against gun owners and merchants from the start. And where do they get thier stats and numbers....they never tell us.
308Win, you are absolutely right. We have to do ALL we can to get the word out. And that begins right here at home for me. With my 2 grandsons, my nieces, nephews and the folks in my neighborhood.
Also, I am glad the the NRA and Wayne was wise enough not to get in a pissin' match with these guys on this particular program. They get enough opportunities to twist and churn words and stories. This was not the place for that.
