Crummy movie: Righteous kill (includes spoiler)
« on: April 13, 2009, 03:54:15 AM »
I am a sucker for psychological thrillers, so when I read the blurb on Righteous Kill, a recent movie, I had to rent it. Very disappointing. Do not rent it. Since you won't rent it or buy it because of my sage advice I'll spoil it for you: A completely unsuspenseful movie with no intrigue or theatrical devices about two veteran detectives who have been partners for 30 years on NYPD, one of whom is a serial killer of criminals. The partner who is not a serial killer is being framed by the one who is. The bad cop is shot by the good cop at the end of the movie. Al Pacino's character is the bad cop. Good potential story. Bad movie. Don't see it.

But Questor, by you saying the movie is so bad, makes me want to see it even more because now I'm thinking what possibly could have been so bad about that movie that would motivate Questor to warn us not to rent or buy it. ;) The fact that it is so bad, might actually make it sort of good, iffin you're catching my drift. And now, if I don't see it, I won't get the chance to pick a bad movie apart. :D So, after your post, I'm probably now going to go out of my way to see this movie. ;D

Some movies are so bad they're engaging. This one is not engaging. It's forgettable. Don't waste your money.

I'll wait until it comes out on HBO or one of the other movie channels. That should only take about 2 years. I finally got to watch 3:10 to Yuma just this month after waiting for a couple of years to finally see it. So expect my review of Righteous Kill sometime during 2011. ;)

I don't put money in Hollyweird's hands. I do not go to the movies, I do not rent or buy movies or watch pay per view movies. I don't support folks who don't support me. And that actually goes far beyond just Hollyweird and the anti's.

Greybeard I like your style,I too cant stand Hollywood. Last fall I worked on a job in West Hollywood replacing out dated fiber optic receivers. We started at midnight and worked till 6 the next morning to avoid having so many people off. I never have seen so many guys in drag in my life,FREAK SHOW.
The local techs laughed at me,they are used to seeing this.I just couldnt get used to it.Even the cop cars have rainbows on the doors.I wont go back to that place, nothing like having a 6ft3 guy in drag blowing kisses at you. Very strange place, now I know how a woman feels when guys hoot and holler at her.YUK
