Question about Contender carbine barrels
« on: April 13, 2009, 06:50:16 AM »
I'm interestd in getting a barrel and was wondering what the difference is between the regular 23" Contender barrel and the T/C custom shop24" barrel?   I saw that Ed has both in the caliber I want according to his website.

The one to ask of course would be Ed.

The 23 inch barrel is probably tapered with iron sights.  The 24 inch Custom Shop barrel likely doesn't have iron sights and could be the "heavy" barrel.  As far as barrel quality and accuracy is concerned, there is probably no significant difference.

All the new 23" TC barrels with no sights that I am aware of are straight from end to end, no taper. The ones with sights will say they have sights and they are tapered.
The ones from the custom shop are .....well...custom. Can be ordered anyway you want them. Good luck on "asking Ed".
