To TM 7, you are correct about NH's mountains.  It also has some inhospitable weather but it is only for 6 or 7 months then moderates.

To Old Shooter, I have to agree with TM 7 bout the vaccine, it is unproven, effective on very few herpes viruses, all of the side effects are not known; possibly causes endometriosis in mid life.  I can see it now, a nation of upset females in their 40's.  FWIW, I am a registered nurse and we have to stay current on education and this is one of the courses that are SUGGESTED by TX board of nursing.  Some of us that took it together did further research beyond what the state gave in the course.  It is not what it is perceived to be.

Well guys if this thread was about  hpv  or Gardasil I would argue the point, i will do some more research and get more info, for another thread. however I did find out that no one can make your Daughter take the vaccine,
Quote
Only a doctor or health care professional can decide if GARDASIL is right for you or your daughter.
So I guess Rick Perry aint gonna come to your house and inject your daughter nor is anyone else.
If your Doctor is satisfied that it is warranted then and only then will it be applied and it only is a prophylactic against cervical cancer. There is no demon here and I dont think there is a conspiracy either.

If this is a sticking point for you then by all means you should vote for the democratic candidate in 2010 and 2012
and we will keep Rick Perry and his States rights attitude here!

It supposedly is a stipulation in our constitution since we were a republic before we were a state.

I'm not sure,........................ I'm not sure its legal to pay federal income tax but I Pay em.

I be happy to right about now!

7 we just need to wait until you approve of a good candidate. But I'm old and I may not see it!  ;)

For the record! I cant say at this point that I would vote for Perry. but he is spit'n in Odramas eye right now and i dont see anyone else with those kinda gonads. Maybe he is a Charlatan but he has done a good job here so far despite his "Nazi drug experiments on young girls". But "W" did a good job here also and we know how you feel about him! HMMMMM maybe you should run on the hate everyone ticket! We could be at war with ourselves before we knew it!  ;D

War is necessary, Freedom is EXPENSIVE, Ignorance is UNIVERSAL.... me, 2009

I don't say not to question. But you never, that I have seen offer an alternative, you just seem to bring up something negative, as in this case. You are not the only American that can think for himself.  YOU  don't seem to understand that no one is the perfect candidate. There definitely no perfect politicians and only politicians run for office.  I am not deluding myself that there are no crooked politicians, but I also am not deluding myself that I will fix the problem by voting for someone that has NO prayer of winning. I do not vote for the lessor evil. I vote for the candidate that I think has MORE of my interest in mind. Simple as that. When I find the perfect candidate I will be in Heaven, and it will not be an issue there! I hope you wont still be here complaining about every one that runs!

You get what you deserve when you stay home aand dont vote or vote to loose to make a statement ! We have a leftist, socialist, gun banning, apology making, president right now because people either did not vote or voted to loose!

Reagan was a strong conservative long before he ran for the Presidency.
I have been hearing some of Ronald Reagan's speeches lately, that he gave before becoming President.  They were fabulous.
He had a long history of conservative activism, b/c that's just who he was.
Rick Perry does not have such a history.  In fact, until recently, he has pretty much snubbed his nose at the conservatives in our state.
He does what is politically expedient.
Please do not think of this man as the leader we need.
There is a vacuum of leadership, and we desperately need someone.
But this ain't the guy we are looking for.
This is political posturing, pure and simple.
If he were to run for the presidency, it will become known he is another Bush or another McCain.
And we will lose again.

CNN is reporting that Gov Perry mentioned today secession an option for Texas. Is this true?

C4, In I believe 1843, when the REPUBLIC of Texas joined the Union, it RESERVED THE RIGHT, to secede from the Union AT ANY TIME, and also the right to, if it chose to divided into 5 separate states. This is not rumor, it is part of Texas History that they USED TO TEACH.
It is on several POPULAR radio stations in the Dallas-Ft.Worth area now, about the facts that Texas refines about 72% of the the nations oil, holds the contracts for about 61% of the defense contracts, and has enough recoverable oil in the ground to sustain the entire states population for approximately 300 years. I have a friend in the state house of representatives that about 24 years ago introduced such a bill as to secede, that it would save the Texas tax payer BILLIONS a year, as we would no long have to support northern pork programs. He also stated that we had enough natural resources to give every child in Texas, including illegal aliens' children a FREE COLLEGE EDUCATION.
As you may have noticed on the news, we as a state had HUGE TURNOUTS support the tea parties and Gov. Perry appeared and spoke at several.
None in this state except the Obama boys, and a few near-sighted individuals want any part of any northern bailouts, and there is a movement that has been growing for months to secede from the union and it's growing socialistic tax burdens and rights infringements.
You may all go to hell, I will go to Texas. Davy Crockett

Dee,

I think Texas politics, thankfully can allow Perry to say these things and it will not harm him for reelection. In fact, given the environment, it’s likely to help him so this is a good thing. If Perry can keep talking like this, people all over the country will listen. If Texas secedes from this disgusting Union, my wife, son and I will likely be applying for citizenship the first day they open their immigration office. Secession is not likely, but in any case, the fact that talk about it is making its way to the national scale is good news.

I'll chime in on this one.
My personal opinion is that Perry is a snake in the grass.  I disagree with him on a good deal of issues.
However, he has my full support in his speeches regarding HCR 50 and his speech at the Tea Party.
It has made me give him the benefit of the doubt.

And for the record, he addressed those at the tea party calling for secession.  He did not call for it himself.
He said that Texas is proud to be part of America, bbut if things get bad, who knows what might happen.
Of course I'm sure CNN will paint it as he's calling for armed rebellion and a second civil war.  You never can win with the mainstream media.

And a note to TM7...  This thread is about Perry's message to Washington, not Herpes and Vaccines.

Perry is a tight primary race with US senator K. Bailey Hutchison.  He is trying to paint Hutchison as a DC insider.  This is the reason for the Perry rhetoric.

alsaqr, I agree that that is probably his motive, but he will be painting an accurate picture of KBH.
The gubernatorial race in 2010 will be business as usual.  Hold your nose and vote for the lesser of the evils.
Luckily, the framers of the Texas Constitution had the foresight to limit the powers of the office of President, then Governor.
I suppose you could say that our deep-seated distrust of politicians goes back to 1836 here in the Republic/State of Texas.

Wether it is political grand-standing or not... I do love the message though!

Well I would say that what you say here is indeed true as to the up coming race. As far as Perry trying to paint Hutchins as a DC insider, he certainly shouldn't need to large a brush, and very much paint, because she has proven that she indeed is, by her and her sidekick and fellow Senator from Texas both supporting the bailout.

Westbound, I can only present another way of looking at Mr. Perry as far as you "snake in the grass" comment. Perhaps he is the most poisonous of the snakes available for Texas rat control at the present time. Maybe? Maybe not?

At any rate, he being a PROFESSIONAL politician, he certainly warrants watching, but perhaps as Belchazzar did, he has seen the "hand writing on the wall" and feels the call to become a better Texas citizen and Governor. Let us pay attention and see.

That's a perspective I hadn't thought of!
I hope you are right.  He might get some forgiveness for past misdeeds if he's willing to listen to the desires of the citizens of Texas.

Well fellas, the one thing that strikes me about this thread is that you don't like / trust any one running for office! Now there is nothing necessarily wrong with that! But we will have to put somebody up or Odrama will run unopposed in 2012. If by chance we have no one that meets everyone here's approval we must send "agent 7 " to Washington. He may not know how in the hell to run the country but he will drive everyone else out of their minds! Then we can sit here and raise seven kinds of hell at him!   ;)

Hello Everyone
If the international bankers are contributing to the campaigns of the presidential candidates. Thats contributing to all presidential candidates.
And private banking controls the Federal Reserve (Misnomer neither Federal or a reserve) then who is pulling the strings of whatever candidate does get in office?
Now I hear they are talking about letting our finances be controlled by international bankers.  Hello Bilderbergers. As a start we need to have congress live up to their constitutional duties and be in control of our monies.
I know! I kinow! That would make stealing it more difficult.

Yankee1, I am not sure what your saying in your last post. It seems that you separate the present Federal Reserve and International bankers.

The FACT IS, that the Federal Reserve "IS" owned by foreign bankers ALREADY, and THE BILDERBERGERS are ALREADY involved. The Rothschilds, and Rockefeller's also. They have been pulling the U.S. pocket book strings since 1913. They are just stepping out of the dark for the first time, as they see they overall plan, now within reach.

I vote for the candidate that I think can win and will represent my core beliefs, you on the other hand pout and vote against someone or for someone who has no prayer of being elected. WHILE YOU AND OTHERS, VOTE FOR SOMEONE WHOM HAS "NO PRAYER OR INTENTION" OF "HONESTLY" DOING THE "PEOPLE'S WILL" FOR THE "GOOD OF THE PEOPLE". COME ON OLDSHOOTER, THAT'S A COP OUT. IF YOU VOTED FOR THE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE THIS ELECTION, YOU VOTED FOR A KNOWN SOCIALIST, WITH THE VOTING RECORD, AND PUBLIC PERFORMANCE TO PROVE IT. HE IGNORES HIS OWN STATE ON IMMIGRATION, AND BORDER PROTECTION.

Now dont say if we all voted for said candidate he would win. WHY NOT SAY THAT? IT IS THE TRUTH.

By the time the eclection rollls around you know who has a chance and if you pick someone that has no chance you sabotage the country! I WOULD DISAGREE AND SAY THAT PICKING AND VOTING FOR, A "KNOWN LIAR, AND DECIEVER" IS WHERE THE ACTUAL SABOTAGE TAKES PLACE.

"Rip us off", Pardner I've sent no one to Washington to rip us off. IF YOU HAVE VOTED FOR "ANYONE" (SUCH AS MCCAIN) THAT HAS VOTED "AGAINST" THE CONSTITUTION AND BILL OF RIGHTS (HIS VOTING RECORD PROVES IT), THEN YOU HAVE "INTENTIONALLY" SENT SOMEONE, OR ATTEMPTED TO SEND SOMEONE TO WASHINGTON TO RIP US OFF.

Come election time you pick a candidate and I will vote for him/her. Then we can both throw our votes away! THROW A VOTE AWAY BY VOTING FOR HONESTY, THE CONSTITUTION, AND THE BILL OF RIGHTS? HOW CAN THAT BE?

To get to the point of being elected to high office in this country you enevitably have to "sell your soul". SO YOU ARE "INTENTIONALLY" VOTING FOR SOMEONE WHOM HAS, AS YOU SAY "SOLD THIER SOUL" AND YOU KNOW IS ALREADY CORRUPTED? HOW ODD.

So surely no one is pure! The third party guy or independent maybe pure(doubt it) but he gets nowhere, because he has no support. HE HAS NO SUPPORT BECAUSE THE DEMOCRAT "AND" THE REPUBLICAN HAVE DRANK THEIR PERSPECTIVE KOOLAIDE, AND ARE "AFRAID" TO CRAWL OUT OF THEIR PESPECTIVE BOX.
But if you go by your theory of the system Why vote anyway! The cabols will determine who they want, and get them in office. Oh and I pray for you too! OLDSHOOTER WHILE YOU ARE PRAYING FOR TM7, PLEASE PRAY FOR ME ALSO. I AM CERTAINLY PRAYING FOR FOLKS THAT VOTE LIKE YOU, AND THEY ARE LEGION. AS FAR AS THE BUSH REGIME BEING OUT, AND THE COMMUNIST REGEIME IN. EVERYTHING IS "POLITICALLY ON SCHEDULE" AS FAR AS THE "HISTORICAL" ASPECT OF THIS COUNTRY AND IT'S PRESIDENCY IS CONCERNED. ONLY TWICE IN THE HISTORY OF THE PRESIDENCY HAS ONE PARTY HELD THE OFFICE FOR MORE THAN 8 YEARS. ROOSEVELT WAS THE FIRST WHEN ELECTED TO 3 TERMS (HE DIED IN OFFICE) AS A DEMOCRAT, AND REAGAN WAS ELECTED TO 8 YEARS FOLLOWED BY BUSH 1 FOR 4 YEARS.[/b]

NOW THERE IS AN ORIGINAL CONCEPT, NOT THOUGHT OF IN QUITE SOME TIME.

We agree on much OldShooter, but we disagee on much. Your analogy here on voting habits is a walking contridiciton "based on the results" of your methodology. And no I am not yelling by using caps, it was just easier for this ole fart to keep your thoughts and mine seperate. ;)

Well Dee, we will have to agree to disagree!

I won't pick every point apart cause my time is more valuable than that .

Quote
IF YOU VOTED FOR THE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE THIS ELECTION, YOU VOTED FOR A KNOWN SOCIALIST,
Duhhh! McCain did not want to spread the wealth, Seems to me !

Dee by you and Agent 7's remarks we need not vote at all !It is predetermined!

When I say "if we all voted for a third party candidate" I mean all here in this discussion sorry I did not make myself clear.

When you only have a choice between McCain and Obama Sorry I pick McCain, he deserved a chance he fought for his country and sacrificed a lot.  And we will never know how his administration would have done. Kind'a think he would not have apologised in the middle east and Europe for us!  I Really dont believe the defecit would have gone thru the roof, and if it did it would not have gone to acorn and leftist organisations bent on ruining the country but maybe to the defense of the country. We will nver know we got the leftist!

Name the guy "we" should have voted for. You, me and 45 million other Americans could have voted for a third party candidate and  and came in third! But pard, we would never have gotten that many!

And dont blame me for no border security, I have been there all along !

Hello Dee
That is precisely my point. In order to correct the problem we must first identify it correctly.  To take the power away from them we must first take the printing of our money away from them.  Kennedy passed a law to return the power to print money back to our government. Six months later he was shot.
No one in office since then has done anything about the law that is already in place. Could it be that they are afraid of being killed just like JFK.
And No! I'm not a fan of JFK.  I just like to point out at every opportunity how we are all being controlled and robbed by the system that is in place.

Hello Again Dee
I should also have said I am in complete agreement with your assessment of our current situation . I further believe we must insist on Congress taking back the control of printing our money.
