696 Holster
« on: April 15, 2009, 01:02:42 AM »
I am the fortunate owner of a model 696 (no dash) that I bought several years ago but do not own a holster that fits this model.  I have been using an Uncle Mike's belt holster that is designed for a 4" revolver and I think this gun deserves better.  I would like to hear from other 696 owners with their ideas.  Thanks

I am also a S&W 696 owner of many years. I lucked out and found a very nice old Bucheimer Combat Crossdraw lined holster for mine at a gun show a few years back. This holster is black and it goes very nice with this great carry gun.
I prefer a crossdraw holster.

I bought a Gould & Goodrich holster from J&G Sales on Ebay. The 696 fits in it very nicely.
This is what their current listing says for it…

“This auction is for a right handed Gould & Goodrich 2-slot black pancake holster for a S&W K-frame revolver with a 3" barrel or similar. Used, with some worn spots and small leather cracking, this holster has "B29 33" stamped on the back, is equipped with a thumb-break retaining strap. The bottom is open making it possible for longer barrels to fit. The picture is generally representative of the holster you will receive.”
