I recently learned that PETA actually made a real, true attempt to get the public to change what we call fish to a new category called sea kittens! This is no joke. Apparently, PETA forgot that not all fish live in the sea! Anyway, they could not gain any traction with this dumb idea.

I remember when PETA threatened a law suit against a town in New York named Fishkill. They were trying to get the town to file for an official name change. Again, the morons at PETA failed to do ANY research on the name Fishkill and its origin. The town was settled by the Dutch and Fishkill in Dutch means Fish Creek.

I also remember when they paid and had billboards erected all over the dairy country of Wisconsin to try and get people to stop drinking milk. They used a picture of the then New York Mayor Rudy who was suffering from colon cancer at the time. Their billboards claimed that he got cancer from drinking milk. Rudy was an unwilling participant in that billboard campaign and there was huge public backlash against PETA. There’s no scientific evidence to support PETAs claim that milk can cause colan cancer.

There are so many example of this over the years it’s hard to believe. Even the left wing nut cases over at MSNBC & NBC have said PETA is making it hard to gain any traction with its poor and misguided zealot leadership.

These people are idiots.

Someone was telling me (could be bs I don't know) they at one time wanted to start calling fish "seakittens". ;D

I guess they think people wouldn't want to catch "kittens"

Cabin, to say they are idiots is a massive understatements.
Did you see the cartoon drawing they had of some daranged man in a suit chopping the head off of a fish with this evil look on his face??
The caption was "Your daddy is a murderer".  Yup, targeting the children of recreational fishermen.

I'm going over to all of my recipes and changing the word fish.
Now its going to be "Baked Kitten" and "Fried Kitten" and "Grilled Cajun Kitten".
And one of my favorites... "Kitten Chowder"

and you hit the nail on the head.  I bet I can get a gopher carcuss out to 200 yeards  ;D

jeez, uh, well.....

I am ashamed to say I make my own hummus from sesame seeds and chick peas.  I actually eat it, but if it means being able to take down a few liberals, I guess I could donate some to the cause.

Ya know, looking at that poster, brought to mind that when things get bad here as I think they may, Those peta folk will probably try to kill ya for a bit of the fish you caught or the rat you just skinned! 

And they wont be to worried about how humanely its done neither!  ;)
