Ruger Blackwawk 50th Anniversary
«

I just got a brand new Blackhawk 50th anniversary .357 today. When I got home with it I checked it out and it won't cock. I wish I had
checked it at the store. Now I have to send it back for repair. I wonder where the fired case in the box came from. Ruger's Q&A aint
what it used to be.

No, it's not locked. I can open the loading gate, rotate the cylinder, close the gate and it will cock.
Let the hammer down and it will not cock. Feels like a timing problem. It shouldn't have any problems.

That a shame Trex. I feel your disappointment.

Is the base pin fully seated? Of it isn't it won't push the transfer bar rearward and allow the hammer to be pulled. Before going back to the factory, i'd think I'd prob check back at the shop it came from.
Q&A...isn't that "question and answer"?

Checked the gun again and found a small piece of plastic down in the transfer bar mechanism.
These old eyes aint what they used to be.

Well good for you Trex. Hope it's working well now, and I'm glad you don't have to send it in.

Always pays to check everything before jumping the gun and going the "send it back" route. Glad it's working for you.
